A unique technology for oil treatment using ultrasound was created in the Russian Federation
Tests of the country's first oil treatment technology based on the use of industrial ultrasound have come to an end.
With the help of this technology, under the influence of ultrasonic waves, the oil-water emulsion is separated into oil and water. Moreover, the process takes place directly in the pipeline without specialized tanks for separation.
Due to this, the consumption of demulsifiers is reduced by 30% compared to traditional methods. In addition, it has now become possible to use domestic chemical reagents instead of expensive imported analogues.
Experts from the Gazprom Neft Science and Technology Center investigated ultrasonic effects, low, high and ultrahigh frequencies, electromagnetic radiation and electrohydraulic shock. This made it possible to determine how different force fields affect the destruction of oil-water emulsions in order to provide the most efficient process for water and oil treatment.
The tests have confirmed the high economic efficiency of the new technology and the possibility of its replication at other assets of the company.
